Collection: Caving from Kitulgala

With evidence of prehistoric human activity of about 32,000 years ago, Belilena is a large cave site located about 8km away from Kitulgala. If you are interested in exploring caves this is the perfect spot to start off your holiday from Colombo. Occupying a very special place in Sri Lankan culture, Belilena had yielded human remains, bone tools, use of fire and various tools made out of stone, as well as remains of game animals. Guided tours are available when caving in Belilena which will surely take you back in time.
